Psychosocial support services

Psychosocial support services

Lighter Initiative for Community development (LICOD) provides psychosocial support services which encompass a range of interventions designed to address the psychological and social aspects of the victims of LRA war. These interventions aim to enhance mental health, emotional resilience, and social functioning.
We help the war affected victims to handle crisis, trauma, or situations that may cause distress. We offer the following programs to keep the once traumatized people vibrant and responsible citizens.

Counseling and Therapy programs

Individual counseling: We offer one-on-one sessions with our trained professional to address specific mental health concerns of our beneficiaries.

Group therapy: We organize periodic group sessions where individuals with similar challenges share experiences and support each other under the guidance of a facilitator.

Education and Awareness Programs: Workshops and seminars to provide information on mental health, coping mechanisms, and stress management.

Psychoeducation: We offer educational resources to help individuals and communities understand and manage psychological challenges.

Trauma-Informed Care: We provide care and support with an understanding of the impact of trauma on individuals and our war affected communities. We implement strategies that promote safety, trust, and empowerment.

Crisis Intervention: Immediate support for individuals facing acute emotional or psychological crises. We have hotlines and helplines where we offer confidential and immediate assistance to those in need.
