Food security and Agri-business

LISCOD works on a strong belief that hunger isn’t simply a matter of an absence of food. It also means a lack of the right food. Some northern regions that is Gulu City, Kitgum district, Nwoya district and Omoro district, suffer from scarcity while others have food without the right vitamins, minerals or nutrition, leading malnutrition especially in children and malnutrition in pregnant women which makes them prone to infections, anemia, lethargy, and fatigues.

This programs not only bring women and youth together in farming groups to practice large scale farming but also leads them to have small kitchen gardens, modern vertical farming for vegetables and fruits to enable them have proper feeding for them and their children.

The program also trains the youth and women into agro-products value addition and storage technologies to enable the communities have food security and earn much through small scale agro-processing.
